The program, “O, My Offense Is Rank”: Lincoln’s Favorite Shakespeare Speeches, which was canceled due to snow and travel conditions on March 2, has been rescheduled for March 18 at 7:30 pm, in the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

As previously announced, it will feature actors Philip Bosco, Kathleen Chalfant, and Richard Easton reading excerpts from Hamlet, Henry IV, Julius Caesar, King Lear, Othello, and other plays. The program, featuring commentary by Harold Holzer, will show how Lincoln used the bard to win a court case, found solace in the speeches when his son Willie died, and analyzed and critiqued the plays.

The event is presented as part of the series, “Mystic Chords of Memory”: Abraham Lincoln and the Performing Arts. Admission is free, and first come, first served.
