Mike Daisey to Open soloNOVA Festival at DR2

Celebrated monologist Mike Daisey will open terraNOVA Collective’s annual soloNOVA Arts Festival — which play the DR2 Theatre, May 6-31 — with his keynote address, Why Solo Performance Matters: A Manifesto on May 6 at 8pm. Daisey has also been named this year’s soloNOVA Artist of the Year.

Daisey’s many monologues include How Theater Failed America, If You See Something Say Something, Invincible Summer, I Miss the Cold War, Great Men of Genius, Wasting Your Breath and 21 Dog Years, and he has performed at venues such as the Public Theater, the Cherry Lane, the Yale Repertory Theatre, and many more.

The festival will also include performers Abena Koomson, Ryan Migge, Micia Mosely, Haerry Kim, Leigh Evans, Jeff Grow, Preston Martin, Martin Dockery, Abigail Nessen Bengson, and Aja Nisenson, as well as visual artists Kenneth Le Riche and Amy Kalyn Sims.
