Mark Brokaw, Leigh Silverman, and More Set to Direct Readings at the Public

The Public Theater has announced selections for its 2008 Emerging Writers Group Spotlight Series, featuring works by playwrights at the earliest stages in their careers. The readings are free and open to the public, and have presentations at 3pm and 7pm.

Selections will include American Myth by Christina Gorman, directed by Mark Brokaw (April 13); The River Nun by Chris Cragin, directed by Tea Alagic (April 15); Luther, by Ethan Lipton, directed by Leigh Silverman (April 20); I Stand Corrected by Akin Salawu (April 30); Red Flamboyant by Don Nguyen, directed by Joanna Settle (May 4); The October Crisis (To Laura), by Alejandro Morales (May 11); Indio, by Aladdin Ullah, directed by Hal Brooks (May 18); Red Rooster, by Pia Wilson, directed by Liesl Tommy (June 1); S/he, by Nick Hadikwa Mwaluko, directed by Niegel Smith (June 8); Nannyland, by Radha Blank (June 15); Mission, by Raul Castillo (June 22); and In the Crossing, by Leila Buck, directed by Shana Gold (June 29).
