Ensemble Studio Theatre to Present Series of John Patrick Shanley Plays

Ensemble Studio Theatre will honor John Patrick Shanley with a month-long series of his work and will present him with the Distinguished Member Award at its 37th anniversary benefit dinner at the Prince George Ballroom on May 4.
The company will present readings of Savage in Limbo (April 7), Four Dogs and a Bone (April 14), a group of one-acts from his Welcome to the Moon series, and Beggars in the House of Plenty.
Participating actors and directors will include Deborah Hedwall, Jan Leslie Harding, Bruce MacVittie, Will Pomerantz, James Murtaugh, Catherine Curtin, William Jackson Harper, Billy Hopkins, Mary Robinson, and many others.
Shanley won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Doubt, and directed the play’s film version, earning many additional honors including an Oscar nomination.
