Axis Company has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Trinity 5:29, to run April 2-May 9, with an opening on April 9. Randy Sharp will direct.

Using the form and structure of medieval cycle plays, the piece centers on J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb. When Trinity, the first atomic bomb, was tested at 5:29am on July 16, 1945, Oppenheimer whispered a quote from Hindu scripture, “I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” The cast will include Edgar Oliver, Marc Palmieri, Britt Genelin, and Brian Barnhart.

The creative team will include Kyle Chepulis (set design), Steve Fontaine (sound design), David Zeffren (lighting design), and Elisa Santiago (costume design).
