MCC Theater has announced selections for its four-week “PlayLab Readings,” to be presented at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. Each free reading will be followed by a post-performance reception in which audience members are invited to mingle with the artists.

Readings will include Kathryn Walat’s Smile (April 6), about a young woman temporarily homeless after an apartment fire; Blair Singer’s Path (April 13), about a woman who embarks on a new friendship with her best friend’s new boyfriend; Alex Lewin’s The Further Adventures of Suzanne and Monica (April 20), about an actress making her way through the Hollywood machine; and Ann Marie Healy’s Seven Stars (April 27), about a woman thrust into an unfamiliar world looking to find her way back to her mundane routine.
