Austin Pendleton to Star in Another Vermeer at Abingdon Theatre Company

Austin Pendleton will star in the Abingdon Theatre Company production of Bruce J. Robinson’s drama Another Vermeer, March 29-April 20. Kelly Morgan will direct.

In Another Vermeer, accomplished Dutch painter Han Van Meegeren must prove he forged the Vermeer he sold to Goering during WWII or face the death penalty for treason. The cast will also feature Thom Christopher, Dan Cordle, Justin Grace, and Christian Pedersen.

Pendleton’s recent credits include Mother Courage and Her Children and Romeo and Juliet. He has been an actor for more than five decades, appearing in the original Broadway productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Shelter, and Grand Hotel, and in the 1997 revival of The Diary of Anne Frank. He is the author of such plays as Uncle Bob and Orson’s Shadow, and he received a Tony Award nomination for his direction on the 1981 revival of The Little Foxes. He received a 2007 Drama Desk Award for being a Renaissance Man of the American Theater.
