Irene Molloy, Matthew Morrison, Skipp Sudduth, and Mare Winningham will star in The Atlantic Theatre Company’s production of 10 Million Miles, a new musical with a score by Patty Griffin and book by Keith Bunin, to run May 11-July 1. The production, to be directed by Tony Award nominee Michael Mayer, will open officially on June 14.

The story concerns Duane and Molly (Morrison and Molloy) who take a road trip from Florida to New York with many detours along the way. Griffin, a two-time Grammy nominee, has written songs for The Dixie Chicks, Bette Midler, and Reba McEntire among other artists. Bunin’s plays include The Busy World is Hushed and The Credeaux Canvas.

The show’s creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Michael Krass (costumes), Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer (lighting), Brian Ronan (sound), and Tim Weil (music direction, arrangements, and orchestrations). Mayer received Tony nominations for Thoroughly Modern Millie, A View from the Bridge, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. He is currently represented on Broadway by Spring Awakening, which began at the Atlantic.

Molloy received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for The Civil War. Her regional credits include Whistle Down the Wind and Romeo and Juliet. Morrison received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics nominations for The Light in the Piazza. His other Broadway credits include Hairspray, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, and Footloose.

Sudduth, who will play all the men, has starred on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, Twelfth Night, and The Grapes of Wrath, and starred on the hit NBC series Third Watch. Winningham’s stage credits include Hurlyburly, Side Man, and Lessons. She received an Oscar nomination for Georgia and won Emmy Awards for George Wallace and Amber Waves.
