Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will continue as Roxie Hart in the long-running revival of Chicago through April 22.

She originated the role of Velma Kelly in the revival, which opened in November 1996, and earned a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance. Neuwirth won her first Tony Award for Best Featured Actress for the revival of Sweet Charity. Her other New York stage credits include A Chorus Line, Dancin’, Damn Yankees, Fosse, and Here Lies Jenny. She is also known for her television work, including Cheers and Frasier.

Chicago features a score by John Kander and the late Fred Ebb, including such hits as “All That Jazz,” “Mister Cellophane,” “Razzle Dazzle” and “Nowadays.” The production is directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Ann Reinking (who played Roxie opposite Neuwirth’s Velma).

Chicago currently stars Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Philip Casnoff as Billy Flynn, Rob Bartlett as Amos Hart, and Roz Ryan as Matron Mama Morton.
