James Avery, who starred in TV’s Fresh Prince of Bel Air, will play Holloway and Chuck Cooper, who won the Tony Award for the The Life, will play Memphis in the Old Globe’s production of August Wilson’s drama Two Trains Running, April 21-May 27. The production, to be directed by Seret Scott, will open officially on April 26.

Part of Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh Hill cycle, Two Trains Running takes place inside a rundown diner in the late 1960s as urban renewal hits the city. The show’s 1992 Broadway production earned four Tony Award nominations, including Best Play, with actor Laurence Fishburne winning the Tony as Best Featured Actor. The play was revived earlier this season by New York City’s Signature Theater.

The cast also features Willie Carpenter as Hambone, Edi Gathegi as Sterling, Rosalyn Ruff as Risa, Montae Russell as Wolf, and Al White as West. The creative team includes Tony Fanning (sets), Karen Perry (costumes), Chris Rynne (lighting), and Paul Peterson (sound).
