Jay Johnson: The Two and Only will now play Burbank’s Colony Theater, April 19-May 21. The official opening is slated for April 22.

Earlier this year, the show played the Brentwood Playhouse in Los Angeles, and was scheduled to come to Broadway this month. However, it postponed its engagement at the Helen Hayes Theatre to make room for the extension of Sarah Jones’ show Bridge & Tunnel. It is still expected to arrive on Broadway this fall.

Directed and co-created by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel, the show details he 30-year career of Johnson, the ventriloquist who is best known for playing the roles of Chuck and Bob on the classic television comedy Soap. In The Two and Only, he gives voice to characters ranging from a subversive monkey to a withering tennis ball.

The show was first seen Off-Broadway in 2004 at the Atlantic Theater Company, where it had an extremely successful run.
