Groener, Kazee, Moran to Join Broadway Cast of Spamalot

Martin Moran and Steve Kazee will respectively replace original cast members David Hyde Pierce and Hank Azaria as Sir Robin and Sir Lancelot in the Broadway production of Monty Python’s Spamalot on April 4, and Harry Groener will take over the role of King Arthur from Simon Russell Beale (who replaced Tim Curry in December) on April 25.

Groener is a three-time Tony Award nominee for his work in Crazy for You, Cats, and the 1979 revival of Oklahoma! His other Broadway credits include Harrigan ‘n Hart, Sunday in the Park With George, and Imaginary Friends. Moran has appeared on Broadway in Bells Are Ringing, Titanic, and Cabaret, and he is the author/performer of the acclaimed monologue The Tricky Part. Kazee was recently seen in the Kennedy Center production of The Subject Was Roses.

Spamalot won three 2005 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Director (Mike Nichols). The show also stars Lauren Kennedy, Christopher Sieber, Christian Borle, Michael McGrath, and Steve Rosen.
