F. Murray Abraham, Kelly AuCoin, John Cariani, Matthew Cowles, Deborah S. Craig, and Jennifer Mudge will star in a benefit reading of Charles Mee’s new comedy The Mail Order Bride on Monday, March 27 at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Resonance Ensemble Company.

The play concerns an older man who orders a young Asian bride by mail, much to the outrage of his family and friends. Mee’s previous works include Wintertime, bobrauschenbergamerica, Big Love, and True Love.

Abraham won an Academy Award for his performance in Amadeus. AuCoin was last seen on Broadway in Julius Caesar. Cariani received a Tony Award nomination for his performance as Motel in the revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Cowles is best known for his role of Billy Clyde Tuggle on All My Children. Craig currently stars as Marcy in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Mudge was last seen in New York in The Pavilion and starred as Maggie in the Geffen Playhouse production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
