LaGuardia High School Presents Spring Drama Festival

Drama majors in the senior class at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts will display their acting talents during the school’s annual Spring Drama Festival, April 14-May 21. All performances will take place at the Main Stage, located at 100 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street.


Kicking off the festival will be Moisés Kaufman’s The Laramie Project, a docudrama investigating the murder of Matthew Shepard, directed by Lee Lobenhofer; the production is set to play April 14 & 15 at 7:30pm and April 16 at 2pm and 7:30pm. Then the festival will switch gears and present the Georges Feydeau-Maurice Desvallieres sex farce Hotel Paradiso, directed by James Moody, May 5 & 6 at 7:30pm and May 7 at 2pm and 7:30pm. Capping the festival will be Inherit the Wind, the landmark Jerome Lawrence-Robert E. Lee play about the Scopes “Monkey” Trial. Gregory Schneider directs the Pulitzer Prize-winning piece, which will be performed on May 19 & 20 at 7:30pm and May 21 at 2pm and 7:30pm.
