On Sunday, March 21 at the 14th Street YMHA, the “Musicals Tonight!” series presented Day and Night, an evening of musical performances by daytime TV stars. Seen here smiling after the show are two of the stars of One Life to Live: Jay Wilkison, who gave a heartfelt rendition of “Why” from the Jonathan Larson musical tick, tick…BOOM!; and Renée Elise Goldsberry, who put her own personal stamp on “It Might as Well Be Spring” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair.
One of the evening’s highlights was the appearance of Mitchel David Federan, known to Broadway audiences as young Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz but also a veteran (!) of the daytime drama All My Children. Federan performed “On The Sunny Side of the Street,” complete with a tap break and a back flip!
And here’s a shot of the entire company: Eden Riegel (All My Children), Troy Kurtis (The Guiding Light), Elizabeth Hendrickson (All My Children), and Amanda Serkasevich (The Guiding Light with Federan, Wilkison, and Goldsberry.
