Broadway star Patrick Wilson, who also recently appeared in the highly acclaimed HBO production of Angels in America, has withdrawn from the Kennedy Center’s upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’s Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, choosing instead to accept a movie offer. No replacement for Wilson has yet been announced.

Cat On a Hot Tin Roof — part of the Kennedy Center’s “Tennessee Williams Explored” series, which begins next month and continues through August — will run from June 1 through June 20 at the center’s Eisenhower Theatre. Directed by Mark Lamos, the production will star Mary Stuart Masterson as Maggie, Dana Ivey as Big Mama, George Grizzard as Big Daddy, Emily Skinner as Mae, and T. Scott Cunningham as Gooper.
