Kaufman Center to Celebrate Finn, Strouse, and New Musicals at Merkin Hall

The Kaufman Center will continue its "Broadway Close Up" series at Merkin Concert Hall on Monday, March 29 with More Infinite Joy: The Music of William Finn. The program will feature Broadway performers Betty Buckley, Stephen DeRosa, Raúl Esparza, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Janet Metz; under the musical direction of Vadim Feichtner, they will perform songs from Finn's latest musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, as well as selections from his Elegies, Falsettos, and A New Brain.

On Monday, May 10, the series will celebrate the music of Charles Strouse in a program titled Welcome to the Theater, featuring interviews and performances by Strouse and a lineup including actress Penny Fuller, lyricists Lee Adams and Martin Charnin, and book writer Tom Meehan. The series will conclude on Monday, June 7 with the fourth annual Bound for Broadway concert, a showcase of new musical theater works that will be hosted by Broadway's Liz Callaway.

All concerts will begin at 8pm at Merkin Concert Hall, which is located at 129 West 67th Street. Tickets are priced at $25 for one concert or $60 for a subscription to all three. For information, call the box office at 212-501-3330 or visit www.kaufman-center.org.
