Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has announced that its 17th annual Easter Bonnet Competition will take place on Monday, April 19 at 4:30pm and Tuesday, April 20 at 3pm at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street), home of The Lion King.

This year’s competition will feature performances and presentations by the companies of more than 20 Broadway, Off-Broadway, and touring productions. The company that comes up with the best original bonnet design wins an award, but the most important honor of the event goes to the show that has raised the most money for BC/EFA. Each year at this time, post-performance collections are taken up to raise funds for the organization, which supports AIDS-related causes across the U.S.

VIP seating and priority orchestra tickets for the Easter Bonnet Competition are priced at $350 and $200; general admission tickets are priced at $20 (balcony), $40 (mezzanine), and $90 (rear orchestra). For more information or to purchase tickets, phone BC/EFA at 212-840-0770, ext. 268 or visit www.broadwaycares.org. Also, beginning on April 12, tickets will be available at the BC/EFA offices, 165 West 46th Street, Suite 1600.
