In addition to his theater work, White designed costumes for such films as There's No Business Like Show Business and The Greatest Show on Earth. He also created designs for the ballets Fall River Legend, Fancy Free and Tristam, for the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, and for several television specials. In the course of his career, he received two Tony Awards, four Donaldson Awards, and three Academy Award nominations.
