Rosemary Harris to Star in Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink at Roundabout This Fall

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will take on the role of Eleanor Swan in the off-Broadway premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink when it plays at the Laura Pels Theatre beginning September 4. The production is set to open September 28. Carey Perloff will direct.
Indian Ink follows Flora Crewe, an English poet, as she travels through India in the 1930s and her relationship with an Indian artist unfurls against the backdrop of a country seeking its independence. Then, 50 years later in England, Flora's younger sister Eleanor tries to preserve the legacy of Flora's controversial career, and little by little Flora's mysterious past is revealed.
The full cast and design team will be announced soon.
Next season, Roundabout will also present a new production of Stoppard's The Real Thing on Broadway starring Ewan McGregor and Maggie Gyllenhaal, with direction by Sam Gold. Rosemary Harris was last seen on the Roundabout stage in The Road to Mecca in 2011.
