Big Fish stars Norbert Leo Butz and Kate Baldwin will reunite for a one-night-only concert production of the Neil Simon-Marvin Hamlish-David Zippel musical The Goodbye Girl on April 7. The evening, directed by Zippel, will serve as a benefit for The Actors Fund and take place at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

Inspired by the Oscar-winning film of the same name, The Goodbye Girl follows the unlikely romance between single mom Paula (Baldwin), who is jilted by one too many actor boyfriends, and Elliot (Butz), an actor who shows up at her door with a lease to sublet her apartment. The original 1993 Broadway production starred Bernadette Peters and Martin Short and was nominated for five Tony Awards.

The concert staging will feature an all-star cast (still to be announced), musical direction by Joel Fram, and choreography by Lorin Latarro. Butz and Baldwin played husband and wife in the recent Broadway premiere of Big Fish, which played the Neil Simon Theatre last fall and was preserved for posterity on a newly released cast recording.
