Ma-Yi Theater has announced a one-week extension for its currently running coproduction Lloyd Suh's new play, The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! The play, coproduced with La MaMa, will now run through February 23 at La MaMa E.T.C. Ellen Stewart Theatre. The Wong Kids was originally scheduled to close February 16.

This new family-friendly show features action-driven storytelling, puppetry, and visual effects. The story follows Violet and Bruce Wong, two earth kids who don't fit in because they have super powers (but not very good ones). Ma-Yi's artistic director Ralph B. Peña and Jack Tamburri helm the production.

The show's cast includes Alton Alburo, Curran Connor, Sasha Diamond, Ethan Hova, Kate Marley, and Matthew Gunn Park.

The design team features Meredith Ries (set), Becky Bodurtha (costumes), Paul Whitaker (lighting), Shane Rettig (original music & sound), and David Parkinson Valentine (puppets). Jennifer Delac choreographs.

Ma-Yi Theater Company was founded in 1989 and is currently celebrating its 25th-anniversary season. The Drama Desk and OBIE Award-winning not-for-profit organization's primary mission is to develop and produce new and innovative plays by Asian-American writers.
