Elaine Stritch Returns to New York to Discuss Her Career with Documentary Filmmaker Chiemi Karasawa at 92Y

Stage and screen legend Elaine Stritch (A Little Night Music) will return to New York on February 17 for a public discussion at the 92nd Street Y. The event will feature Stritch discussing her extraordinary life and career with director Chiemi Karasawa, who recently created the film Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me.
The event will also include clips from the new film, photographs from Stritch’s personal collection, and words from friends including Alec Baldwin, Hal Prince, George C. Wolfe, Nathan Lane, Cherry Jones, Tina Fey, James Gandolfini, and John Turturro.
Elaine Stritch is known for roles in several Broadway productions of Sondheim musicals including Company and A Little Night Music. She also performed in her Tony Award-winning Broadway solo show, Elaine Stritch at Liberty, in 2002 and appeared in many episodes of NBC's 30 Rock as Colleen Donaghy, the mother of Alec Baldwin's character, Jack Donaghy. Stritch left New York City in 2013 after 71 years to return to her home state of Michigan.
Chiemi Karasawa founded Isotope Films in 2005 to develop and produce content based on character-driven true stories. Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me, her directorial debut, will be released theatrically by IFC/Sundance Selects in 2014.
