UPDATED: S. Epatha Merkerson Joins Blythe Danner and B.D. Wong in the Role of “Stage Manager” for The Actors Fund’s One-Night-Only Benefit Performance of Our Town

Celia Keenan-Bolger, Rebecca Luker, Julia Murney, Adriane Lenox and more will appear in the reading directed by Peter Flyn.

UPDATE: Blythe Danner (Nice Work If You Can Get It), BD Wong (TV’s Law & Order: SVU) and S. Epatha Merkerson (Come Back, Little Sheba) will share the role of the Stage Manager in this one night only benefit reading for The Actors Fund.

February 14, 2013 – The Actors Fund has announced additional casting for its March 4 benefit reading of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. The cast will now include Tony Award winners Blythe Danner (Follies) and B.D. Wong (Pacific Overtures) sharing the role of the Stage Manager as well as Martin Moran (All the Rage), Julia Murney (Wicked), and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Smash).

February 4, 2013 – Broadway favorites and Tony nominees Celia Keenan-Bolger (Peter and the Starcatcher), Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins), and Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox (Chicago) are set to participate in The Actors Fund’s one-night benefit reading of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, taking place March 4 at The Gerald R. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College. The performance will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the play’s Broadway opening, and proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services of The Actors Fund.

Peter Flynn (Chess) will direct the reading of this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, which depicts life in the small village of Grover’s Corners. The play is meant to present the image of an average town’s citizens in the early twentieth century.

The production will feature multiple actors in the central role of the Stage Manager. Additional casting for the reading will be announced soon.
