Claybourne Elder, Klea Blackhurst, Andrew Samonsky, and More Lead York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti Series

The Musicals in Mufti Series will present Hollywood Pinafore, Happy Hunting , Silk Stockings, and more during the winter 2013 season.

The York Theatre Company has announced principal casting for the remaining three musicals in its Winter 2013 Musicals in Mufti Series: Hollywood Pinafore, Happy Hunting, and Silk Stockings. Casting for their first production Two By Two was announced previously.

Hollywood Pinafore, with book and lyrics by George S. Kaufman, and music by Sir Arthur Sullivan, will run from March 1-3. Directed by Marc Kaufman and with music direction by Beth Falcone, the principal cast features Susan Bloomaert (Grease), Claybourne Elder (Bonnie and Clyde), Sara Jean Ford (Phantom of the Opera), Tom Galantich (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), David Schramm (Finian’s Rainbow), and Mary Stout (Beauty and the Beast).

Happy Hunting, with book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, lyrics by Matt Dubey, and music by Harold Karr, runs from March 15-17. David Glenn Armstrong directs with music direction by Aaron Gandy. Happy Hunting will star Klea Blackhurst (Bingo the Musical), Ward Billeisen (Curtains), Joy Franz (Into the Woods), Jessica Grové (Illyria), Seán Martin Hingston (Promises, Promises), Andrew Samonsky (South Pacific), Lynne Wintersteller (Closer than Ever), and Jack Adams. Performances are scheduled for March 15-17.

Closing out the series is Silk Stockings, with a book by George S. Kaufman, Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows (as adapted by Stuart Ross) and music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The cast will feature Stephen DeRosa (Into the Woods), Erick Devine (Ragtime), and Michael Kostroff (The Producers). Performances are set for March 22 -24.
