William Shatner to Host Canada’s Juno Awards

Stage and screen star William Shatner will host the 2012 Juno Awards, Canada’s top music honor, on April 1 in Ottawa. The event will be televised by the CBC.


Among the many nominees are Justin Bieber, Michael Buble, Avril Lavigne, City and Colour, Dan Mangan, Drake, Feist, Hedley, Nickelback, Arcade Fire, Adele, Lady Gaga, Duck Sauce Robin Thicke, Rihanna, Coldplay, and LMFAO.


Shatner’s new solo show, Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It, will play Broadway’s Music Box Theatre, February 14-March 4, before embarking on a national tour . His prior Broadway appearances include A Shot in the Dark, The World of Suzie Wong, and Tamburlaine the Great..


He won Emmy Awards for his work on Boston Legal and The Practice, played the title role in the TV series T.J. Hooker, and is best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk on TV’s Star Trek.
