Tony Nominee and Monkees Member Davy Jones Has Died

Tony Award nominee Davy Jones has died of a heart attack, according to published reports. He was 66.

Jones, under his full name, David Jones, received a Tony Award nomination for his performance as The Artful Dodger in Oliver!. Among his other stage credits are Forget-Me-Not-Lane, The Point, and Tom Sawyer, as well as a U.K. tour of Godspell and pantomimes such as Cinderella and Dick Whittington.

Jones will best be remembered for his work as a member of The Monkees, and the television show on which the group was featured. Among his other television credits are cameo appearances as himself, most notably on The Brady Bunch, and also SpongeBob SquarePants and on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
