Phoebe Legere and Matt Morillo will host Theatre for the New City’s 9th annual Love N’ Courage benefit, to be held on Monday, February 13 at the National Arts Club.

As previously reported, performers will include Tammy Grimes. The line-up will also feature Anna Bergman, Louisa Bradshaw, COBU, Michael-David Gordon, Ben Harburg and Friends from Broadway, and Thunderbird American Indian Dancers. Invited guests scheduled to attend include Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson.

This year’s gala will honor writer and teacher Bel Kaufman, who turned 100 last May. She is best known for her novel Up the Down Staircase, based on her experiences as a teacher in various New York City high schools. Last year, Kaufman became the oldest-known working professor when she was hired by Hunter College, her alma mater, to teach a course on Jewish humor.
