Stella Adler Studio of Acting and The Actors Clinic to Present World Premiere of Hikobae

New York’s Stella Adler Studio of Acting and The Actors Clinic, a prominent acting school in Tokyo led by Toshi Shioya, will present the world premiere of Hikobae, March 11 at 7pm at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. The play will also be performed the following day at 6:30pm at the United Nations with the Mayor of Soma City in attendance.

Hikobae is a fictionalized story about the medical staff that risked their lives following the March 11, 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, based on recorded interviews with physicians and nurses from Soma City Hospital, a medical center in the Fukushima evacuation zone. The play will premiere on the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Japan.

The bilingual theater piece will be performed in English and Japanese and all proceeds will benefit the Soma City Earthquake Disaster Orphan Scholarship Fund.
