Sundance Institute is to present its first New York benefit event, March 12 at New York Theatre Workshop and The Bowery Hotel. Sundance Institute President & Founder Robert Redford will host the event.

The evening, which will benefit Sundance Institute’s theater program, will begin with a private performance of Denis O’Hare and Lisa Peterson’s An Iliad, 7pm at New York Theatre Workshop. Directly following the performance, there will be a dinner party on the terrace of The Bowery Hotel, featuring appearances by theater program alumni Christine Ebersole and Scott Frankel as well as Jeanine Tesori and Georgi James.

Since it was founded in the early 80’s, Sundance Institute has become an internationally-recognized nonprofit organization that actively advances the work of risk-taking storytellers worldwide by providing year-round creative and financial support for the development of original stories for the screen and stage.
