Renee Fleming, Gerard Finley, Rob Fisher Set for New York Philharmonic Season

The New York Philharmonic has announced its 2012-2013 season.


The Philarmonic will present a staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s
Broadway classic Carousel, February 27-March 2, at Avery Fisher Hall, to be presented as part of PBS’ Live from Lincoln Center series. It will be directed by James Brennan and conducted by Rob Fisher. No casting has been announced.


Other highlights of the Philharmomic’s season will include a production of Luigi Dallapicolla’s opera Il Prigoniero starring Gerard Finley (June 6, 8, 11), and director and designer Doug Fitch’s productions of Petrushka and the The Fairy Kiss (June 27-29).


Artists who will appear with the Philharmonic this season will include Leif Ove Andsnes, Emanuel Ax, Renee Fleming, Elizabeth Futral, Wynton Marsalis, Jayce Ogren, Itzhak Perlman, and Gil Shaham.


In addition, Tony Award nominee Alec Baldwin will continue as host of the Philharmonic’s national radio broadcast, The New York Philharmonic This Week.
