Rebecca Brooksher, Dana Ivey to Star in Acting Company’s Suddenly Last Summer Benefit

Tony Award nominee Dana Ivey will headline The Acting Company ‘s benefit staged reading of Tennessee Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer at 7 pm on Monday, February 13 at the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons. A reception will follow the performance, which will be directed by Jodie Markell.


The play concerns Violet Venable, who must finally confront the terrible secret surrounding her son Sebastian’s death during their vacation in Italy.


The cast will also feature Rebecca Brooksher, Betsy Aidem, Chad Hoeppner, Neal Huff, and Pamela Nyberg.


Ivey is a five-time Tony Award nominee for Butley, The Rivals, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Sunday in the Park with George and Heartbreak House. Her numerous other theater credits include Driving Miss Daisy, Sex and Longing, Present Laughter, and The Savannah Disputation.
