Nigel Lythgoe, Tommy Tune to Be Honored at Capezio 125th Anniversary Gala

Honorees have been announced for Capezio’s 125th anniversary gala celebration, to be held at New York City Center on Monday, April 23 at 7pm. The show is conceived and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo.

Nigel Lythgoe will accept the Capezio 125th Anniversary Award benefiting Dizzy Feet Foundation. Lythgoe is the executive producer of TV’s American Idol and co-creator and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning So You Think You Can Dance.

Tommy Tune will receive the 61st annual Capexio Dance Award. Tune has won nine Tony Awards for acting, direction, and choreography. His Broadway credits include Seesaw, Nine, My One and Only, The Will Rogers Follies, and Grand Hotel. Among his other honors are the National Medal of the Arts, eight Drama Desk Awards, two Obie Awards, and two Fred Astaire Awards.

Some of the proceeds from the event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, American Tap Foundation, and the National Dance Institute.
