Megan Hilty to Star as Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Megan Hilty will star as Lorelei Lee in the Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, to run May 9-13 at New York City Center. As previously reported, John Rando will direct the show, which will have choreography by Randy Skinner and musical direction by Rob Berman.

Hilty’s Broadway credits include Wicked and 9 to 5: The Musical. In addition, she appeared in Two by Two as part of the Reprise series in L.A. She also stars as Ivy Lynn on NBC’s upcoming musical drama series, Smash.

With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Leo Robin, and a book by Anita Loos and Joseph Fields, the show, set in the Roaring Twenties, follows the madcap adventures of the original “dumb blonde,” Lorelei Lee, as she sets sail for Europe with her best friend Dorothy Shaw. Among the hit songs from the musical are “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend, “Bye, Bye, Baby,” and “A Little Girl from Little Rock.”
