Tony Award-winning actress, singer and songwriter Idina Menzel, original star of Broadway’s Wicked, the original stage production of Rent and FOX TV’s smash hit Glee, returns to The Mann on Saturday, June 30 to perform with The Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of conductor Steven Reineke.

Two seasons ago, Menzel’s performance with the Orchestra was a high point of the Mann’s summer.

Menzel’s diverse career crosses stage, film, television and music. On March 6, she will release a CD and DVD entitled Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony, a special journey through a diverse repertoire of classic pop and musical theater favorites, including a fresh spin on contemporary songs, led by legendary composer/conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Filmed at The Royal Conservatory’s beautiful Koerner Hall in Toronto, Canada, Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony premieres on PBS stations beginning March 3, 2012. Menzel will be live in studio at Philadelphia’s WHYY when the program airs for the first time on Wednesday, March 7 at 8pm.
