Federico Restrepo, Penelope J. Armstead-Williams, and More Set for Loco7’s Urban Odyssey at La MaMa

La MaMa E.T.C. will present the world premiere of Loco7 Dance Puppet Theatre Company’s Urban Odyssey, March 22-April 8 at La MaMa’s Ellen Stewart Theatre.

Conceived by Federico Restrepo and Denise Greber, Urban Odyssey is a dance puppet theater piece that depicts the experience of immigration to America through movement and visual theater.

The cast will feature Federico Restrepo, Penelope J. Armstead-Williams, Ching-I Chang, Maura Donohue, Denise Greber, Rob Laqui, and Gilbert Reyes, along with puppeteers Rocky Bostick, Kiku Sakai, and Kayla Schetter.

The piece is designed, directed, and choreographed by Federico Restrepo, with original music composed by Elizabeth Swados and text by Elias Khoury. The design team will also include Kris Kukul (musical direction), Federico Restrepo and Angela “Nena” Sierra (video design), Catarina Leitao (tent puppet design), and Denise Greber (Costume Design).
