The Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, which as previously reported will play the Broadhurst Theatre, has announced production dates. The show will play a limited engagement April 3-July 22, with an opening on Sunday, April 22.

This multi-racial production will star Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch. Emily Mann will direct and the production will feature an original score by Terence Blanchard.

The creative team will also include set designer Eugene Lee and costume designer Paul Tazewell.

The play tells the tale of former school teacher and socialite Blanche DuBois, as she’s forced to move in with her sister Stella and her animalistic husband Stanley. But the fragile, Blanche quickly gets a gritty life lesson in the seamy, steamy underbelly of 1950’s New Orleans.
