PS 84, The Lillian Weber School, Parent Teacher Association will present a special cabaret event, Part of His World: An Evening with Alan Menken, to raise money for the school’s enrichment programs. The event will take place at the New-York Historical Society (170 Central Park West, at 77th Street) on Sunday, March 4, at 7pm.

In the one-man concert, Menken will perform and discuss the songs that the world has come to know and love. He will be introduced by his longtime music director and conductor for all film, Broadway, and television projects, Michael Kosarin, a PS 84 parent. The evening will also feature a cocktail reception and live auction.

In addition to winning eight Oscars, Menken has earned seven Golden Globes, ten Grammys, and three Tony nominations. Menken has been represented on Broadway by shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, and the currently-running Sister Act, with Newsies and Leap of Faith opening in the next few months.
