Actor Peter Breck, who played Nick Barkley on TV's The Big Valley, died Monday, February 6 in Vancouver at age 82, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brck began his career in theater, and worked on regional stages, in summer stock, and in Canadian theater, in such plays as A Thousand Clowns, Accommodations, and Mister Roberts.

In addition to his work on The Big Valley, Breck appeared in numerous television series and movies including Maverick, Black Saddle, The Virginian, I Want to Live!, and Lad A Dog. He also ran an acting school in Canada.

He is survived by his wife Diane.
