His film credits include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Into the West, The Jigsaw Man, Waking Ned Devine, and Stardust

He also appeared in numerous television series including Oh, Father! Fawlty Towers, Robin's Nest, Cowboys,, and Strumpet City.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Morton, and their children, David and Miriam.
