2011-2012 Tony Award Season Calendar of Events Announced
The Tony Awards have announced the calendar for the 2011-2012 Tony Award season. As previously announced, the 66th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards ceremony will be held at the Beacon Thaetre on Sunday June 10 and broadcast on CBS.
The cut-off for Tony Award eligibility will be April 26 and the nominations for the prizes will be announced on May 1 in an event to be held at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at Lincoln Center.
In addition, it has been announced that the 2012 Tony Eve Cocktail Party will be held on June 9. At the event, the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and the Special award recipients for the season will be presented.
Other notable dates for the 2011-2012 will be the nominees press reception that will be held on May 2, and fully covered on TheaterMania, and the luncheon at which the nominees can gather among themselves to celebrate the season, to be held on May 31.
