Woodie King Jr’s New Federal Theatre Announces Cast for Bill Harris’ Cool Blues

Ezra Barnes, Stephanie Berry, Terria Joseph, Marcus Naylor, Maria Silverman and Jay Ward will star in the Off-Broadway premiere of Bill Harris’ Cool Blues, to be presented at Henry Street Settlement’s Abrons Arts Center/Recital Hall, March 10-April 3, with an opening on March 20. Ed Smith will direct the production, which will kick off the 40th season of Woodie King Jr’s New Federal Theatre.

Set in 1955, the show involves a black jazz musician who shows up unannounced to spend a fateful weekend in the apartment of one of the world’s richest women.

The production will feature set design by Anthony Davidson, costume design by Ali Turns, lighting design by Shirley Prendergast, and sound design by Bill Toles.
