VIDEO FLASH: Sister Act Cast Performs on ABC’s The View

The musical is based on the film of the same name, and tells the story of disco diva Deloris Van Cariter, who put into protective custody in a convent after she runs away from her gangster boyfriend. View co-host Whoopi Goldberg played Deloris in the film and its sequel, Sister Act 2, and is one of the producers of the show. She also appeared in the show’s London production as Mother Superior.

Jerry Zaks is directing the production, which will have choreography by Anthony Van Laast, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner.
