Ricky Ian Gordon’s Bric-A-Brac CD to Be Released March 8

Blue Griffin Records will release Bric-a-Brac, its second installment of a series of discs featuring songwriter Ricky Ian Gordon performing his own work, on March 8.

The 19-track disc includes musical settings for works by Dorothy Parker, Edna St. Vincent Millay, May Swenson, and Langston Hughes in addition to pieces which use Gordon’s own poems. The recording also includes Gordon performing selections from his stage works including the musical My Life with Albertine and the opera The Grapes of Wrath.

The songwriter’s other works include the musicals The Sycamore Trees and Dream True, and the song cycles Green Sneakers and Orpheus and Euridice, as well as Prayer, a choral work for piano and chorus.
