Famed neurologist and writer Dr. Oliver Sacks attended the Irish Repertory Theatre’s revival of Brian Friel’s Molly Sweeney at the Saturday, February 5 performance. The production, directed by Charlotte Moore, runs through March 13.

The play centers on a woman, who, having been blind since she was an infant, has her eyesight restored. The cast includes Jonathan Hogan, Geraldine Hughes, and Ciarán O’Reilly.

Sacks is the author of To See or Not to See, which inspired Friel to write this play. His other books include Awakening and The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.
