Living Theatre to Live Stream Performances of Korach

By Dan Bacalzo • Feb 15, 2011 • New York City
The Living Theatre has announced that it will offer eight free, live-streamed performances of writer/director Judith Malina's Korach, February 16-26 at 8pm.

The play is based on the Biblical account of Korach, who challenged the authority of Moses over the Israelites during their 40-year trek through the desert after their liberation from Egyptian slavery. In addition to exploring this story, the piece examines others who have challenged their leaders including individuals in Spain circa 1939, Russia circa 1921, and today.

The production features a cast of 30, including Sheila Dabney, Jerry Goralnick, and Tom Walker. The production has original music and choreography, created by the company, and also music from composers Steve Taylor and Carlo Altomare.

The Living Theatre is presenting the live-streaming in honor of the spirit of the Egyptian Revolution. Audiences can view the live-streamed performance, here or, in person at The Living Theatre (21 Clinton Street).
