David Campbell Featured on Floodlight CD, Benefiting Queensland Flood Vicitms

David Campbell, along with his father Australian rock star Jimmy Barnes, sisters Mahalia and EJ Barnes, brother John Swan, uncle Diesel, and brother-in-law Ben Rodgers, is featured on the new CD Floodlight, now available for download on iTunes. Proceeds from the disc are being donated to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.

Among the songs on the disc are three previously unreleased live recordings by Jimmy, David Campbell and Mahalia Barnes from their performance at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and a rare solo recording by Jimmy from 1997 titled “Never Give You Up.” Also included on the disc is Campbell’s rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (from Carousel), which he sang at the Nine Networks appeal for the Queensland floods in January. Mark Lizotte (a.k.a. Diesel) has contributed two songs, one of which is a brand new recording which will be feature on his forthcoming album 7 Axes To Grind album.

In his native Australia, Campbell has starred in such musicals as Les Miserables and Shout. His New York credits include Sondheim’s Saturday Night and Babes in Arms at Encores!, as well as cabaret appearances.
