Alan Ayckbourn’s The Norman Conquests, with Richard Briers, Tom Conti, Penelope Wilton, et al. to Be Released on DVD in March

The Emmy Award nominated television version of Alan Ayckbourn’s The Norman Conquests trilogy will be released in a 3-DVD set by by Acorn Media on March 1.

The trilogy — comprised of Table Manners, Living Together, and Round and Round the Garden — centers on the comedic complications that arise for one family over the course of a weekend as one of their members attempts to get a few days’ break from caring for the family’s bedridden matriarch.

Ayckbourn created the plays in the trilogy which take place in separate areas of the family home so that they could be watched in any order and showcases the same course of events from three different vantage points.

The cast features Richard Briers, Tom Conti, Penelope Keith, Penelope Wilton, David Troughton, and Fiona Walker.

In addition to filmed versions of the plays, the DVDs will contain such bonus material as a biography of Ayckbourn and background on the trilogy.
