Actress Peggy Rea Dies at Age 89

Actress Peggy Rea, who played e role of Eunice Hubbell in the 1950 City Center production of A Streetcar Named Desire, has died at age 89 according to published reports.

Rea also played the part in the show’s touring company. She also appeared on Broadway in Cole Porter’s Out of This World.


She began working steadily in films and television in the 1950s, first appearing in I Love Lucy. She later had prominent roles in Have Gun, Will Travel, The Red Skelton Hour, Gunsmoke, The Waltons, The Dukes of Hazzard, Step by Step, and Grace Under Fire.
