PHOTOFLASH: Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu, and Janet McTeer Talk About God Of Carnage

On Monday morning, February 16, the next cast for the Broadway production of Yasmina Reza’s Tony Award-winning Best Play God of Carnage spoke to the press about working on the tragic comedy, currently playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu, and Janet McTeer will begin their run in the show at the March 2 performance.

The play, directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus, is about a schoolyard dispute and its aftermath. The production currently stars Christine Lahti, Annie Potts, Jimmy Smits, and Ken Stott.

Baker, who will play Alan, received a Tony nomination for La Bete, with other Broadway credits including November, Mauritius, and Eastern Standard. Daniels, who will play Michael, originated the role of Alan in the production, receiving a Tony nomination for his work. He won a Drama Desk Award for Fifth of July, an Obie for Johnny Got His Gun, and is also well known for his film work.

Liu, who will be making her Broadway debut as Annette, has numerous film and television credits, including Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Charlie’s Angels, Chicago, and an Emmy-nominated turn in Ally McBeal. McTeer, who will play Veronica, received a Tony nomination for her recent performance in Mary Stuart, and won the Tony, Oliver and other awards for her performance in A Doll’s House. She previously played her role in the London production of the play.
